Queens home inspector

Home inspections in Queens

Attached brick homes in Jackson Heights, detached houses in Bayside, two-families in Ozone Park, garden co-ops in Forest Hills. Queens has a bit of everything, and we inspect all of it.

What we see most in Queens houses

  • Oil tanks in houses converted to gas, sometimes still in the basement and sometimes buried. We flag the signs so you can order a tank sweep.
  • Basement apartments and finished basements: we document moisture, ceiling height, egress and wiring.
  • Shared walls and roofs in attached rows, where a neighbor's roof problem can become yours.
  • Older electrical services that haven't kept up with central air and modern kitchens.

Garden co-ops and condos

Queens has thousands of garden-style co-op apartments. They're affordable, but they often have older windows, radiators and electrical panels inside the unit. See condo and co-op inspections.

Questions from Queens buyers

Do you inspect in eastern Queens near the Nassau border?
Yes. Bellerose, Glen Oaks, Floral Park, Queens Village and the surrounding area are regular stops for us.
Can you tell if there's a buried oil tank?
We look for the signs: fill and vent pipes, supply lines through the foundation, a gas conversion with no tank removal paperwork. Confirming a buried tank takes a tank sweep, which we'll recommend when the signs are there.
