Westchester home inspector
Home inspections in southern Westchester
Yonkers co-ops, Mount Vernon two-families, older colonials in New Rochelle and Pelham. We cover southern Westchester with the same inspection we do in the city.

Houses on hills
Much of southern Westchester is built on slopes. That makes grading, drainage, retaining walls and basement water some of our most important checks here. We look at where the water goes during a storm and whether the house is set up to handle it.
Co-ops and multi-families
Yonkers and Mount Vernon have a large stock of co-op apartments and two- to three-family homes. Inside the unit we focus on electrical, plumbing, heat and windows. For multi-families, we also inspect the shared systems.
Older colonials and Tudors
In Pelham, Bronxville and New Rochelle, homes from the 1920s and 30s often have slate or tile roofs, plaster walls, old wiring and steam heat. They're beautiful, and they need an inspector who knows what to look for.
Permits and certificates of occupancy
In Westchester, building permits are handled by the local city, town or village, not the county. When we see a finished basement, an addition, a newer deck or an extra kitchen that looks like it may have needed a permit, we note it so your attorney can check that municipality's records before closing.
